Brow Lamination

Eyebrow lamination is one of the most popular services in the beauty industry albeit relatively new. The procedure focuses on creating beautifully smooth, shiny brows as opposed to a natural brow which may be thinning or simply unruly.

There are no needles or blades involved in the procedure, which is regarded as a semi permanent procedure which will need to be repeated at regular intervals in order to maintain a polished look and maintain results.

Included in this service is a tint which will ensure a professional outcome.

A Brow Laminating service may be referred to also as perming of the brow in order for th brow to maintain shape and direction for an extended period of time.

Here's what to expect during the procedure:
  1. Your technician will first clean the brow area with a mild cleansing regime in order to prepare the brows and lift the hairs ready to receive the first application of active ingredient.
  2. The active preparation is applied to your brows and brushed upward to help pull them into a uniform vertical direction.
  3. The active is left to take effect for approximately 12 to 15 minutes after which a neutralising application is applied to seal your brows into place and stop the active ingredient action.
  4. The technician then applies a nourishing oil to prevent skin irritation and the possibility of dehydration which could be caused during the process.

The process takes less than one hour to complete and will result in fuller looking, sleek and shiny brows.

Your technician will also include:

  • the tweezing or waxing of excess hairs
  • tinting

Eyebrow lamination is a suitable procedure for those with the following concerns:

  • thinning eyebrow hair which occurs naturally as we age
  • gaps in your brows from overplucking or overwaxing in the past
  • unruly hairs which go in different directions despite brushing them
  • eyebrows which lack shape

Brow lamination is said to make brows look thicker and fuller. Pulling the hairs up vertically may also make it look like you are experiencing new growth. The entire process is also completely non-invasive.

Brow lamination is a non invasive procedure compared to tattooing but there may be risks and side effects to consider should you have an overly sensitive skin or allergic condition. The procedure could lead to:

  • swelling
  • redness
  • peeling
  • itching
  • bumps

Side effects may occur directly beneath/above the eyebrows but may extend to your eyelids.

This procedure may not be recommended for clients with:

  • sensitive skin
  • rosacea
  • eczema
  • a history of contact dermatitis
  • clients who are using any form of Isotretinoin treatment e.g. Roaccutane
Take good care of your brows for extended benefits by:
  • allowing the brows to set for 24 hours in which time no hot water, steam or makeup is allowed over the area.
  • after the first 24 hour period brows can be moisturised using a daily moisturising face cream and brushed up into the desired shape using a mascara wand.
